If the answer is YES !!!!! then come to the Shakespeare Workshop that PTV is running in collaboration with Air Pocket Productions.
What will we do?
We’ll start with a brief introduction to who Shakespeare was, what he did, his world and his theatre
Then we’ll start work on some of the most famous monologues -We’ll help you to your personal interpretation of the character and with text analysis, vocal instruction and personal direction we’ll ‘masterclass’ your piece.
Then we’ll work on some famous scenes (with 2 or 3 roles).
Then a famous group scene
What texts?
All texts will be given 10 days in advance to study ( memorising is not necessary). They will come from some of these plays:
Hamlet, Richard III, Othello, Macbeth, King Lear,The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet,Twelfth Night and Measure for Measure.
What language?
The workshop will be in English (with Italian interpretation) – total immersion!
Who are we?
Air Pocket Productions comprises 3 professional English actors Lawrence Good, Barbara Dryhurst and Zarina Rafiq and Francesco Manfrè (Creative Technical Manager). As actors, we have extensive  experience of playing modern and classical roles on the British stage including many Shakespearean roles. As teachers, we are all 3 qualified English teachers and have taught theatre for many years. If this workshop receives a positive response others will follow  and they will become a regular event in PTV’s rich programme of events .
What you don’t need:
1) A high level of English – we can’t have beginners but even if you haven’t used your English for a long time and you’re rusty (ruginoso !) if you have a base that should be fine. Obviously intermediate/advanced levels will be best but  if you understand this email, that’s good enough!
2) Knowledge of Shakespeare
What you do need:
1) Energy & Enthusiasm
2) Curiosity
3)The desire to dare:  OSARE !!!!
Don’t think too much about it otherwise you may risk a Hamlet-type dilemma…….
and remember:     NOTHING HAPPENS IN LIFE  UNTIL YOU SAY YES !!!!!!
